It was 1984, and my Dad had recently bought me my first computer (Commodore 64). The very first “Ghostbuster” movie had recently come out and I loved it. It was funny, mysterious, and had a very catchy theme song. For weeks everyone would sing the song every-time it played on the radio and the “Ghostbuster” logo was printed on everything. Everyone wanted to get their hands on anything that had the infamous ghost that was inside of the “No Symbol”.
It was a memorable time as I got my first cartridge game based on the movie “Ghostbusters”. I remember plugging it in to the back of my Commodore 64 and didn’t want to stop playing. Mom and Dad called me to come for dinner and I was reluctant to move as I was transfixed to my computer screen.
Ghostbusters II was a great sequel to the first movie. However the 3rd movie with the women didn’t fair so well in the box office and I personally didn’t like it that much myself. This upcoming release of “Ghostbusters: After” looks really good though. It has members of the original cast along with the return of Ecto 1 (Thee Ghostbuster mobile). I’m totally looking forward to watching this with my kids. I hope they bring back the essence of the first 2 movies to this one.
